- Hey, what do you prefer, a Co2 pellet gun or a BB gun?
- Well I prefer CO2, some pellet guns have Blowback and you can shoot faster than compressed air and it's a lot cooler!
But let's take a look today at how Co2 pellet guns and airguns differ and the advantages and disadvantages. A typical CO2 pistol might be for example the Gamo Red Alert 1911 Blowback CO2 pistol.
It is an almost all-metal construction pistol, with very good Blowback effect.
What's wrong with these CO2 pellet guns?
Also, CO2 pistols are usually replicas of the best known real fire guns, for example the Beretta M92A1 (steel pellet), the Sig Sauer P226 (with lead pellet), and then the duals that shoot both steel and lead, for example the HH&K P30.
What about these airsoft pellet guns?
A very good example of an airgun is the Cometa Indian pellet gun.
As you can see it is a gun made for accuracy. They usually only allow you to shoot lead ammunition (lead shot) for maximum accuracy on target and are semi-automatic (you usually need to load a lever to be able to shoot).
They are not usually replicas of any other, so each brand makes its own.
There are also PCP rifles, which are often used for Olympic shooting and competitions and for recreational use.

Which is better: CO2 pellet gun or compressed air pellet gun?
Depending on the type of pellet gun you are using, you can choose between a CO2 pellet gun and an air pistol.
But if you want to shoot targets at 5, 10 metres, a pellet gun is the gun for you. You're looking for accuracy over fun and you want to get that taste of shooting right on target.
