How to mount a scope is a must if you buy an air rifle + scope
A scope is also an essential tool in any shooting practice, be it airsoft, hunting, sport shooting... We show you how to mount a scope below!
But the question is:
How to mount a scope?
First, it's "easy" and intuitive, and once you do it, it's like riding a bike: you'll never forget it. And secondly, there are manuals, tutorials on YouTube, and a long etc.
You have to take into account the following:
- That the scope is mounted properly on its rail (either the typical dovetail [11mm] or the Weaver/Picatinny rail)
- That the reticle is properly aligned with the barrel of the carbine
- And that we have it at the right distance from the eye, so that we see everything in its perfection in the field of view of the rifle scope.
But let's get down to business... You should be able to have the carabine in a safe and stable place, such as a shooting bench, so that you have the carbine upright, and your hands free to mount the scope. Also make sure you have everything right (mounts for the correct tube diameter and rails, screwdrivers and/or levels). Once you have this, "how to mount a scope" will seem like child's play.
It is important to have the rifle in a stable place, such as a shooting bench
1.Remove the rings, using the Alen keys that come in the pack, or a screwdriver that you have. We must make sure to leave a prudent distance between one and the other, so that the turrets of the scope fit well and so that we also have a distance with which to move the scope later
2. Place the scope on top of the mounts, with the elevation turret on top and the drift turret on the right. Tighten the rings a little, but not too much to be able to move the scope
3. Check that the scope is well aligned with the barrel and tighten the turrets, first one screw a little, then the second, always look through the reticle to see if, when tightening the screws, we move the scope. If so, it is necessary to rectify.
4. Once the scope is aligned, proceed to tighten all the screws. Make sure you have everything tight because surely the carbine has recoil and it is necessary that everything is well tightened.
PLUS! If it is a powerful carbine, such as the Cometa GP carbines or the Norica GRS carbines, apart from choosing a good scope for these two, you need to choose a mount that can withstand the recoil, a one-piece mount would be ideal.
How to mount a scope on a PCP carbine?
The steps are practically the same, but above all you have to take into account the type of mount you choose.
You have to take into account, if it has a multi-shot magazine, the hood of the scope, the distance between rails...
As you can see, how to mount a scope, it is not difficult at all, it is very easy if you follow these 4 steps and with patience, you will have a beautiful carbine, mounted with a perfect scope, so that your shots are accurate!
