FX Airguns PCP air rifles

The FX Airguns PCP air rifle range covers platforms with different layouts and levels of adjustment. Families represented within the wider catalogue include Impact, Maverick, Panthera, Dynamic, DRS, Crown, Wildcat, Dreamline, Royale, Bobcat and King.

These series do not all follow the same design concept. Some prioritise modularity and extensive technical adjustment, while others use a bullpup layout, sporter-style stock or ergonomics closer to those of a conventionally shaped air rifle.

Magazines for FX Airguns rifles

FX Airguns uses different rotary magazines according to the platform, generation and calibre. Two magazines that appear similar may differ in their dimensions, capacity, retention system or maximum permitted projectile length.

The collection includes magazines intended for platforms such as the FX Impact, Wildcat, Streamline, Royale, Bobcat and T12. Before choosing a replacement magazine:

• Identify the complete model name.
• Check the generation of the rifle.

FX Airguns sound moderators

A sound moderator for a PCP air rifle must be selected according to the calibre, muzzle thread and barrel configuration. A moderator that appears suitable may not fit correctly if its thread or dimensions do not match the particular version of the rifle.

Before choosing an FX moderator, check:

• The calibre of the air rifle.
• The thread at the muzzle.
• The diameter and overall length of the moderator.
• Compatibility with the barrel, shroud and liner system.
• The available space inside the rifle case.

A moderator acts on the sound associated with the release of compressed air. It does not remove all the mechanical noise produced during the firing cycle.

Pressure gauges and pressure monitoring

Depending on the design of the rifle, a pressure gauge may display the air cylinder pressure or the pressure within another part of the pneumatic system. On an adjustable platform, cylinder pressure and regulator pressure must not be treated as the same measurement.

When selecting an FX Airguns digital pressure gauge, comparing its external diameter is not enough. The thread, measurement range, installation position and compatibility with the specific platform must also be checked.

An accurate reading helps with filling and configuration monitoring, but it must never be used as a reason to exceed the pressure limits specified by the manufacturer.

FX Power Plenum and regulating components

The plenum is the chamber containing the volume of air available before it is released through the valve. FX uses different plenum and regulator configurations depending on the model and generation.

Power Plenum kits are not universal. Installation may alter the relationship between pressure, air volume, projectile velocity, air consumption and firing behaviour. Before making a change, check:

• The compatible platform and generation.
• The exact version of the rifle.
• The settings and limits specified by FX.
• Any additional components required.
• The technical knowledge needed for correct installation.

FX chronographs for checking an air rifle setup

A ballistic chronograph measures projectile velocity. With an adjustable FX air rifle, it can help compare different settings, evaluate a complete shot string and monitor how the platform behaves with different pellets or slugs.

A single measurement provides limited information. For a more useful assessment, record a series of shots and examine the average velocity and variation across the string. These figures should then be compared with the groups produced on the target.

Foster connectors and PCP filling accessories

Foster quick connectors join the high-pressure hose to the rifle’s filling point. Male and female connectors are available, together with adapters using different thread specifications. Every part of the filling system must therefore be checked before use.

The connection must be rated for the required working pressure and correctly installed. Do not connect two components simply because their threads appear to fit. The thread standard, pressure rating and sealing method must all be compatible.

Scopes and mounts for FX air rifles

A scope should be selected according to the platform, normal shooting distance and target size. Magnification, objective diameter, parallax adjustment, reticle and turret adjustment range should be considered together with the type and height of the mounting system.

Pellets and slugs for FX Airguns

Accuracy is not determined by the rifle alone. Calibre, weight, actual diameter, length and projectile profile must be suitable for the barrel, liner, magazine and selected configuration.

A slug is not automatically more accurate than a diabolo pellet. The appropriate combination should be tested with the individual rifle under comparable conditions and assessed across several groups.

Use the following order when selecting an air rifle, accessory or replacement component:

• Identify the requirement: rifle, magazine, filling, measurement, regulation, sound moderation or transport.
• Confirm the model: use the complete platform name.
• Check the generation: different versions within the same family may use different parts.
• Confirm the calibre: particularly important for magazines, barrels, liners and moderators.
• Compare the reference: match it to the component already fitted whenever possible.
• Check the pressure rating: essential for gauges, connectors and pneumatic system components.

Care and handling of FX components

Keep filling connections clean and protected, prevent moisture from entering the system and use only maintenance products intended for PCP air rifles. Regularly inspect connectors, seals, magazines and mounting components.

Components exposed to high pressure must not be dismantled without the correct technical knowledge and equipment. If the rifle loses pressure, behaves inconsistently or develops a fault, identify the cause and follow the manufacturer’s technical instructions.
