Swarovski rifle scopes are designed for hunters who demand premium optical performance, precise adjustment and dependable operation for driven hunting, stalking, high-seat hunting and longer-distance shooting. At Carbin, you can compare Swarovski Optik models by magnification range, objective diameter, reticle, ballistic turret and mounting system.
The right Swarovski scope is not automatically the most expensive model or the one with the highest magnification. A 1-8x24 is built around speed and a broad field of view for moving game; a 2-16x50 offers exceptional versatility; and a 56 mm objective is especially relevant around dawn, dusk and from a high seat. The correct configuration must suit your rifle, actual shooting distances, preferred hunting style and acceptable finished weight.
Which Swarovski rifle scope suits each type of hunting?
| Hunting style | Typical configuration | Recommended series | Main priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driven hunting | 0.75-6x20 or 1-8x24 | Z8i+, Z8i and Z6i | Wide field of view, fast acquisition and illuminated reticle |
| All-round hunting | 1.7-10x42 or 2-16x50 | Z6i and Z8i | Balance of field of view, magnification, weight and low-light ability |
| Stalking and mountain hunting | 3.5-18x50 or similar | Z5+, Z6i and Z8i | Controlled weight and useful magnification at distance |
| High-seat and low-light hunting | 2.5-15x56 or 2.3-18x56 | Z6i and Z8i | Exit pupil, image quality and illuminated aiming point |
| Longer-distance shooting | 5-25x56 or 5-40x56 | Z5+, X5i and Z8i+ | Turret, reticle, parallax and available adjustment |
| Integrated ballistic solution | 4-24x50 | dS Gen III | Rangefinding, ballistic data and correct setup |
These recommendations are a starting point. Calibre, rifle balance, shooting position, available light and normal distances may change the final choice.

Featured Swarovski hunting scopes
Swarovski Z8i 1-8x24 Gen II: speed for driven hunting
The Swarovski Z8i 1-8x24 Gen II is one of the brand's most recognisable configurations for moving game. Its true 1x minimum supports a wide field of view and rapid target acquisition, while 8x provides additional reach when the situation changes. Depending on the variant, it can be mounted in conventional rings or by Swarovski Rail.
Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50 Gen II: the versatile all-rounder
The Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50 Gen II combines a broad magnification range with a 50 mm objective. It suits hunters who want to use the same rifle for stalking, low-light hunting and selected faster situations without automatically accepting the size and weight associated with a 56 mm objective.
Swarovski Z6i 2.5-15x56: a UK search favourite for low light
The Swarovski Z6i 2.5-15x56 is intended for hunters who place particular value on performance around first and last light. Its 56 mm objective and 2.5-15x range suit deliberate shots from a high seat or stable position. Finished weight, mounting height and rifle handling still need to be considered.
Swarovski Z6i 1.7-10x42 Gen III: compact and balanced
The Swarovski Z6i 1.7-10x42 Gen III offers a low minimum for dynamic situations, enough magnification for many stalking distances and a more compact objective than 50 or 56 mm models. It is a logical choice for a well-balanced rifle used across several hunting styles.
Swarovski Z5, Z6i, Z8i, X5i and dS ranges
Swarovski Z5 and Z5+
The Z5 and Z5+ families combine a relatively light design with magnification ranges suited to stalking and medium or longer distances. Different generations, reticles, illuminated and non-illuminated versions may appear within the range. Always read the full product name, including objective size, reticle and any BT equipment.
Swarovski Z6i
The Z6i uses a 6x zoom factor and is known for its balance of image performance, light gathering and straightforward handling. Its configurations extend from more dynamic hunting to dedicated low-light use. Gen III models represent the current development of the family, while other available Z6i references may come from previous generations.
Swarovski Z8i and Z8i+
The Z8i's 8x zoom factor allows one configuration to cover a particularly wide range of situations. Z8i+ is a separate, more specialised family: the Z8i+ 0.75-6x20 prioritises an exceptionally wide field of view for fast driven hunting, while the Z8i+ 5-40x56 focuses on high magnification. Z8i and Z8i+ should not be used as interchangeable names.
Swarovski X5i
The X5i is aimed at precision and longer-distance shooting. Choosing one requires close attention to click value, reticle, parallax adjustment and available elevation travel. It is more specialised than Z6i or Z8i and is not automatically the first recommendation for general hunting.
Swarovski dS Gen III
The dS Gen III 4-24x50 integrates range measurement and electronic ballistic assistance into the riflescope. Its performance depends on correct rifle and ammunition data. It does not replace confirmation of zero on the range or an understanding of the projectile's real trajectory.
BT and BTF ballistic turrets explained
The letters in a Swarovski model name can directly affect equipment and price. BT identifies a ballistic turret that allows distance references to be set for a verified load. BTF is a flexible ballistic turret which, on compatible models, can be configured for elevation or windage.
Not every riflescope accepts the same turret and not every variant includes one. Check the series, generation, exact model and reticle before ordering. If you rarely dial for different distances, a simpler capped configuration may be the more practical choice.
Our technical guide explains how a ballistic turret works, including bullet drop, zeroing and the checks required before relying on dialled corrections.
Scope rings or Swarovski SR rail?
Variants identified by the letter L have a smooth scope body and are fitted in rings of the correct diameter. SR versions incorporate Swarovski Rail beneath the scope. The rail provides a clean, aligned installation but requires a specifically compatible mount.
- Rings: the conventional solution, available in many diameters and heights.
- SR rail: a secure installation without clamping rings around the scope tube.
- Mounting height: must clear the objective while maintaining a natural cheek position.
- Compatibility: check rifle base, tube or rail, eye relief, calibre and available space.

Illuminated reticles and SWAROLIGHT
An illuminated reticle provides a clear aiming reference as light and target contrast change. On compatible models, SWAROLIGHT uses an inclination sensor to manage illumination according to the rifle's position. The exact operation and controls depend on the series and generation.
A clean reticle such as the 4A-I is intuitive for many hunting situations. Other reticles or turrets add references for distance or wind. Because one optical configuration may be supplied with several reticles, always confirm the exact variant selected.
Swarovski optical coatings
Swarovski Optik uses proprietary treatments such as SWAROTOP, SWARODUR and SWAROCLEAN on compatible products and surfaces. They contribute to image performance, surface protection and easier cleaning. Exact light transmission and treatment packages vary by model and should be checked in the relevant technical specification rather than applied to the complete collection.
Compare Swarovski with the complete hunting-scope range
Swarovski sits within the premium segment, but the correct optic also depends on budget, rifle and hunting style. To compare manufacturers, magnification ranges and objective sizes, explore Carbin's main range of hunting rifle scopes.
Frequently asked questions
Which Swarovski scope is best for driven hunting?
Models with low minimum magnification and a broad field of view are the natural choices. The Z8i 1-8x24 Gen II and Z8i+ 0.75-6x20 or 1-8x24 are key options. Rifle, normal distance and mounting preference also matter.
Which Swarovski rifle scope should I choose for stalking?
Balance magnification, objective size, weight and adjustment. A Z6i 1.7-10x42 keeps the rifle compact, a Z8i 2-16x50 provides greater flexibility, and a Z5+ becomes particularly relevant when weight and longer distances are priorities.
Which Swarovski scope is best in low light?
Models with 50 or 56 mm objectives are often the most relevant. The Z6i 2.5-15x56 and Z8i 2.3-18x56 offer useful ranges, but objective diameter alone does not determine brightness. Magnification, exit pupil and actual available light also matter.
What is the difference between Swarovski Z6i and Z8i?
The most visible difference is the zoom factor: 6x for Z6i and 8x for Z8i. Z8i covers a broader magnification range, while Z6i may provide a simpler and better-balanced solution. Compare exact configurations rather than family names alone.
What is the difference between Z8i and Z8i+?
Z8i+ is a distinct family containing specialised models such as 0.75-6x20, 1-8x24 and 5-40x56. Field of view, weight, tube, reticle and mounting options need to be assessed model by model.
Do all Swarovski scopes include a ballistic turret?
No. Some variants include BT, others accept BTF accessories and some are supplied without a ballistic turret. Confirm the full product name and included equipment before purchase.
Is Swarovski Rail better than scope rings?
Neither system is universally better. SR offers a clean installation with compatible components; rings remain widely available in numerous heights. The rifle base and required mounting position determine the correct solution.
Is the Swarovski dS a thermal riflescope?
No. The dS is an optical riflescope with an integrated rangefinder and electronic ballistic assistance. It does not create a thermal image.
How do I check compatibility with my rifle?
Check the rifle base, mounting system, tube diameter or SR rail, available mounting length, eye relief, objective clearance and suitability for the calibre. Carbin can review these points before the order is placed.

Hello, Despite my antivirus alerts, this website is trustworthy. Very competitive prices, excellent communication, and incredibly fast delivery times. I placed an order on December 17, 2025, after contacting them by phone. They were very helpful and did everything they could to ship the package the same day... And indeed, it arrived two days later, on December 19, 2025, at 8:51 a.m. (Shipping from Spain to France, amazing!)

I had the pleasure of purchasing the 150th Anniversary Edition Cometa 400 Fenix at the lowest price I could find online from these kind people. I also indicated that I am passionate about wood and that it would be great if they could send me a nicely figured example. These come with Spanish Walnut stocks. I'm not sure what was done in the background, but I can certainly say my hopes were met on this point!! Excellent communication and overall customer service as I had a few inquiries that were promptly answered. Shipping to France was FAST, easy, and inexpensive. I don't normally write these reviews, but this exceptional service motivated me to do so. I highly recommend this store!
