Maite Cornejo - Family tradition and young passion in hunting

Maite Cornejo, known on Instagram as @hunter_epagneul_maite, is a young hunter from La Rioja who represents the union between family tradition and the drive of the new generations. Since she was a child, she has lived hunting as part of her legacy: it was her father who instilled in her a love for hunting, especially small game hunting with dogs, a modality she is now passionate about, accompanied by her two inseparable Epagneul Bretons, Leo and Gus. Maite has stood out for her seriousness, good judgement and commitment to what she believes in. Her career reflects this dedication: she is a great competitor in small game hunting trials, having represented La Rioja in national championships. In 2022, she achieved a creditable seventh place in the Spanish Women's Championship of Small Game Hunting with Dogs, an event that brings together the thirty best female hunters in the country. This result demonstrates her level and perseverance in a field that is increasingly open to female participation.

On her social networks, Maite shares small game hunting days in the landscapes of La Rioja and Asturias, always accompanied by her pointers, as well as tips on dog training and anecdotes from day-to-day life in the countryside. Her visual style is close and real: photographs of her hunting work, moments of complicity with her Bretons and family scenes of rural life. In addition to being a hunter, Maite is an ambassador for the Spanish hunting clothing brand Rebecca Hunting, which reflects her role as the image of the modern woman hunter. In each publication she transmits values of respect, tradition and love for nature. True to her roots, she promotes ethical and sustainable hunting, reminding us of the importance of knowing and caring for the environment. Her impact on the community is seen in how she inspires other young women: Maite shows that the passion for hunting can be lived with humility and professionalism, while being a guardian of family traditions and an advocate for the evolution of the role of women in this sport.

Andrea Neira - "My Shooting Journey": an international female shooting journey

Andrea Neira - "My Shooting Journey": an international female shooting journey

Under the alias @myshootingjourney on Instagram, Andrea Neira has turned her foray into the world of shooting and hunting into a real journey of learning and inspiration for thousands of followers. Born in Madrid, Andrea did not grow up in a hunting family nor did she have a hunting tradition, but that did not stop her from finding her passion later on. In fact, without having been born into a hunting family, today she is a recognised figure in this field, as highlighted by specialised media. Her path began almost by chance: accompanying the man who is now her husband on hunting trips, she began to feel curious about this activity. Years later, already living in Sweden, she had the opportunity to try clay pigeon shooting and in her first class she broke 24 out of 25 targets - an amazing aim for a beginner -, which immediately got her hooked on the sport. Since then, shooting has become her favourite discipline and she hasn't stopped training and improving.

Andrea is currently the founder of My Shooting Journey, considered one of the most prestigious female sport shooting communities in Europe, and an official ambassador for the renowned Italian shotgun brand Perazzi . Through My Shooting Journey, she shares her journey exploring the world of sport shooting and hunting, combining lifestyle and education. His content includes instructional videos with tips from top instructors, equipment reviews (hearing protection, guns, cartridges) and stories of his participation in clay shooting competitions. With more than 30,000 followers on Instagram, his profile shows everything from training at shooting ranges in Madrid to experiences in emblematic international clubs, reflecting a cosmopolitan life linked to the sport of shotgun shooting.

The impact on Andrea's hunting community has been remarkable, especially among women wanting to take up shooting. By sharing her story - how she went from having no connection to hunting to becoming a passionate shooter - Andrea breaks down stereotypes and encourages others to lose their fear and give it a try. She also advocates for professionalism and safety in shooting: she insists on the importance of protection (it is not uncommon to see her posing with stylish ear helmets) and technical training for responsible gun handling. Her messages promote respect for nature and hunting ethics, reminding us that even sport shooting is linked to values such as discipline, patience and self-control. Andrea Neira embodies the idea that hunting and shooting can be an inclusive and global hobby: her own journey, which took her from Spain to Sweden and to connect with female shooters across Europe, is a living example of the international sisterhood of women in the world of hunting.

Links: Instagram @myshootingjourney - here she regularly shares her training and experiences. She also has a YouTube channel (My Shooting Journey) and Facebook page where she expands her content for her community. Her personal project has become a platform to connect female shooters from different countries and show that, with dedication, anyone can achieve their goals in the sport.

Eva Rius - Hunting champion and pioneer among Spanish female hunters

/p>

Eva Rius is, without a doubt, a reference in Spanish sport hunting. Born in Girona but based in Salamanca, this hunter and psychologist by profession has forged an impressive career combining her passion for small game hunting with dogs and high-level competition. Eva defines herself as "a great lover of hunting and dogs", with a predilection for wild red-legged partridge and for any hunting modality "where the dog is the protagonist". This union with her hunting dogs - usually English setters - has been key in her career. She started competing in the San Huberto modality in 2009, and from the very beginning she showed signs of her talent: "In my first participation I obtained a second place in the Spanish Championship and a second place in teams in the San Huberto World Championship", says Eva about her beginnings. Over the years, she has been on the national podium five times and has achieved outstanding international rankings, including several runners-up in the world team championships and individual honours. Her track record places her as an elite sportswoman in the field of hunting with a dog.

The highlight of her sporting career came in 2022, when she was proclaimed twice champion of Spain by winning two national dog hunting events (Spanish San Huberto Championship and Federation Cup) in the same weekend. This historic achievement confirms Eva Rius as a tenacious and hard-working hunter, whose perseverance was finally rewarded. Beyond the trophies, Eva has played a pioneering role: when she started out, seeing women competing and hunting "was not so common", as she has pointed out in interviews, and she recognises that she has been proud to pave the way for many others. Today, Eva observes with satisfaction how more and more women are encouraged to take part in championships and to share their hunting hobby without complexes.

On her social networks (Instagram: @eva_riushuntress), Eva shares images of her small game hunting days after partridges, rabbits or woodcock, always accompanied by her faithful dogs. She also posts moments from her shooting competitions and training sessions, demonstrating the rigorous preparation behind each success. Her content combines the adrenaline of competition with the beauty of everyday country scenes, such as sunrises at the hunting ground or the joy of a dog being shown. Eva's messages emphasise the importance of perseverance, respect for the environment and love for animals (yes, also for those who are hunting companions). She is an outspoken advocate of ethical hunting: she has stated that if hunting were to be banned one day, she would feel that part of her identity would be taken away, showing her commitment and the passion with which she lives this activity. As a mentor and reference, Eva inspires new generations of hunters to compete, to enjoy the countryside and to value hunting as something more than a sport: a way of living in connection with nature.

Eva collaborates with hunting TV channels such as Iberalia TV and Iberalia GO, where she shares her experience as an expert and stars in documentaries such as "La cazadora de sueños" which narrate her day to day life in small game hunting. Her media presence and proximity make her a luxury ambassador for the Spanish female hunter.

Johanna Clermont - Global Influencer who breaks stereotypes in hunting.

Johanna Clermont - Global Influencer who breaks stereotypes in hunting.

From France comes the influence of Johanna Clermont (@johannaclermont), a young hunter who has become world-renowned for her powerful voice on social media in favour of responsible hunting. At just 27 years old (and having started her public career at 19-20), Johanna already has hundreds of thousands of followers on different platforms, which has positioned her as one of the most prominent hunting influencers in Europe. Her Instagram profile makes her philosophy clear: "Harvest with purpose. Eat with pride", a motto that sums up her approach to hunting for sustainable meat and taking pride in it. It is often said that hunting is for older generations, but Johanna Clermont is one of the exceptions to this cliché, as she has managed to attract a young and diverse audience to the world of hunting. As early as 2020, she had 118,000 fans on Instagram, a number that has only grown since then. His total reach exceeds 300,000 followers if we add all his networks together, an achievement he has achieved through consistency and authenticity

.

Johanna's story is particularly inspiring because, like others mentioned here, she does not come from a hunting family. None of her parents or family members hunted, but when she was a teenager a friend invited her to a hunting trip and everything changed. After that first experience (in which she shot her first wild boar) she posted photos on Facebook that caught the attention of the famous gun company Browning, which saw in her a figure with the potential to connect with the young public. Soon Johanna began collaborating with brands in the industry: rifles, ammunition and equipment came into her hands for her to test and promote online, making her an ambassador for modern hunting. In contrast to conventional cold advertising, Johanna brought a fresh style: she showed her trips to the mountains, the game she shot and also the hard moments, always with absolute respect for the wildlife. She herself stresses that she feels great respect for every animal she hunts, considering herself a nature and animal lover, a perspective she tries to transmit to her audience. Her more than 500 publications are brimming with authenticity: from chamois stalking in the Pyrenees, waiting for wild boar in French forests, controlled safaris in Africa or small game drives, to clay pigeon shooting sessions and conservation tips. Johanna travels the world "hunting with purpose", demonstrating that it is possible to enjoy this passion while contributing to wildlife management and respecting the environment.

Johanna Clermont's community impact is evident in the conversation she has generated: she has attracted many young women to take an interest in hunting, opened debates about the image of the hunter in society and confronted prejudice. It has not all been easy; her visibility has also brought her fierce criticism and even threats from anti-hunting sectors, but Johanna has stood her ground. She is involved in campaigns such as "Zone 300 - Cast out your prejudices" that aim to debunk myths about hunting. She has also created her own agency to support other young creators of hunting content (Johanna Clermont Agency), understanding that unity is strength when it comes to defending the pride of being a hunter. In each post, Johanna conveys elegance (with her signature tweed style and classic accessories), unbridled passion and a call for unity in the hunting community regardless of nationality or gender. Her message is clear: hunting, practised ethically, is a legitimate way of living in nature, and women have as much of a role and responsibility in it as men do.

Johanna is first and foremost an international ambassador for the new generation of female hunters, and her channels are the window to that movement.

Laura Borrallo: elegance, tradition and vindication in hunting

Laura Borrallo is much more than a renowned hunter: she is one of the most influential female voices in the Spanish hunting scene with her Instagram account @lauuuraa_308 A native of Extremadura and a passionate defender of the rural environment, her presence has gained a prominent presence in social networks, events and specialised media thanks to her charisma, style and firm commitment to ethical and sustainable hunting.

A family legacy turned into a vocation

.

Laura grew up in a family linked to the countryside, where hunting was part of life and culture. Her initiation into the world of hunting was not by chance, but the fruit of a tradition inherited with respect, which she has been able to reinterpret with elegance and personal conviction. From a very young age she understood the value of hunting not only as a sporting activity, but also as a tool for management, conservation and a deep connection with nature.

Image of a new generation of women hunters

.

One of Laura's most outstanding qualities is her ability to combine aesthetics with message. With a sober, elegant and natural style, Laura projects an image that breaks with the clichés associated with the figure of the hunter. In her appearances on social networks and in the media, she firmly defends the role of women in hunting, but without stridency: her approach is based on normalisation, integration and pride in an activity that she practises with authenticity.

She is also often seen at hunting trips, stalking and hunting fairs, sharing her experiences with a growing community that follows her not only for her images, but also for the content that accompanies them: reflections on sustainability, defence of the rural world, respect for animals and the fight against misinformation.

.

Dissemination, empathy and pedagogy

.

Laura does not seek polemic, but pedagogy. Through interviews, articles and her online presence - including her profile in the Aristeo project - she has been able to clearly communicate why hunting is compatible with respect for the environment, and how it can be an ally in conservation if practised ethically and responsibly. Her speech is calm, well-argued and deeply empathetic, something that has made her a natural ambassador to bring hunting to wider audiences.

Meri - From animalist to hunter: a transformation with values and family

We close this tour with a story of change that has touched many in the hunting community. Meri (just as we know her by her first name) is an Andorran hunter whose voice recently went viral for the honesty with which she recounted her transformation: from being considered an animalist against hunting, she fell in love with hunting after understanding its reality and values. In a video widely shared on social networks, Meri explains how she abandoned her animalistic ideals to start hunting. Her past is linked to animal protection convictions, but something changed in her life and she made a 180-degree turn in her way of thinking. The result? Today she proudly boasts that she loves hunting and enjoys it as a family, instilling in her son the same values she discovered in this new stage.

Meri says that she never fell into the extremism of some animalists (she never insulted hunters on social media, for example), but she did have a negative view of hunting based on preconceived ideas. Everything changed when he got to know hunting at first hand, through his partner and hunting relatives. Now, in her early 30s, she goes out into the bush with her husband and 11-year-old son, forming a real family hunting team. "We live as a family because the three of us like it. My son and my husband go with the dogs and I go as a stander," says Meri, proud that the little one is already a "dog catcher to death". For her, hunting has become a healthy escape ("an outlet", she says) that unites them as a family and at the same time connects them with nature in a genuine way.

Meri's testimony has had a great impact on the community, because it offers a rare perspective: that of someone who was on "the other side" ideologically and who, with respect and dialogue, found common ground with hunters. In the interview broadcast by the Tiro y Caza channel, Meri debunks myths about hunters and vindicates the truth of hunting: "hunting requires respect, patience and connection with nature", he says, stressing that the cliché that hunters go out into the bush to shoot without control is not true. In fact, he openly invites animalists to spend a day hunting in the field so that they can see first-hand what this passion is all about and "open their eyes" to their prejudices. The values that Meri conveys can be summed up as respect, empathy and learning: respect for animals (both for game species and for hunting dogs, which for her are part of the family), empathy for those who think differently and a willingness to learn and teach. Her key message is hunting with values: to hunt responsibly and in harmony with nature, educating the new generations in these principles.

Meri's story not only inspires other hunters to continue raising awareness, but has also served as a bridge for many outsiders to better understand what drives someone to hunt. At a time when hunting faces public image challenges, voices like hers - honest and conciliatory - are invaluable. Meri demonstrates that the hunting hobby can win anyone's heart if approached with truth, humility and direct experience. Today, she is proudly part of the hunting community and an example of how information and respect can bridge the gap between opposing positions.

Links: Meri's full interview can be viewed on TikTok via the @TiroyCaza profile, where it was published in January 2025. Although Meri does not seek prominence in personal social networks, her testimony has been shared by specialised media such as Jara y Sedal , showing the interest that her transformation has generated. Undoubtedly, her experience is part of a broader #HuntingWithValues campaign, reminding us that hunting and respect for animals are not at odds, but can go hand in hand when hunting is understood in depth.

.

Conclusion: Visibility, inspiration and commitment to women hunters.

These stories reflect the diversity and strength of women hunters today. From the young heiress of a family tradition in La Rioja, to the sport shooter who triumphs on the international stage; from the veteran champion who blazed a trail in Spain, to the French influencer who gives a global voice to the new generation, to the mother who found in hunting a new meaning to her values: they all share a genuine passion for hunting and the desire to pass it on with pride and respect. 1 This article, part of a visibility campaign promoted by a hunting shop committed to its community, seeks to give them the recognition they deserve. By making the active role of women in the hunting sector visible, we contribute to breaking down stereotypes and encourage more women to join in without prejudice. The women featured here have become role models who inspire new women hunters, educate the public about ethical and sustainable hunting, and enrich the conversation about nature conservation and equality in rural areas. Their presence on social media and at industry events not only boosts the positive image of hunting, but creates community: a more diverse community, united by the love of the outdoors, the adrenaline rush of a well-crafted hunt, and respect for our countryside and species.

From this platform we celebrate @hunter_epagneul_maite, @myshootingjourney, Eva Rius, Johanna Clermont, Meri and so many other women whose example is changing the narrative of hunting. They are women of arms (in the noblest sense of the expression) who teach us that hunting does not understand gender, only passion, values and commitment. Let's follow them closely in their profiles, learn from their experiences and support, together, a hunting future where equality and respect are the north. Every like, every message of support and every participation in initiatives like this one adds up to a stronger hunting community that is proud of its diversity. Congratulations to these hunting influencers for being exceptional ambassadors, and may their example continue to inspire many for generations to come!
