The sales ranking of high-power air rifles from the past, updated for 2024-2025, has managed to dethrone the already legendary Gamo Vampir from its reign.
Gamo repeats at No. 1, but with a new model, the Swarm, another variant of its great 10X innovation, now with the third generation of magazines, GEN3i.
The Gamo Whisper X Vampir remains the second queen after so many years; it is a reliable classic, a safe bet.
But be careful, the Turkish manufacturers, who continue to be very strong, are being stalked by the Chinese from Snowpeak, who have PCP at the forefront but whose air rifles are little gems.
We present the ranking but also our field tests, comparing the best-selling high-power air rifles and the three legendary Spanish high-power air rifles.
Sales Ranking of High-Power Air Rifles Updated 2024-2025
2024-2025
Gamo Swarm Magnum Pro 10x Air Rifle
In the first place and surpassing the Vampir by a narrow margin, the best-seller of 2024 is the Gamo Swarm Magnum Pro 10x, a very attractive, powerful, and precise air rifle that, with the included scope, has achieved the top spot with a very competitive price. Made in Spain.
Gamo G-Magnum 1250 Jungle Air Rifle
In second place, the G-Magnum 1250 Jungle with brute power and tactical style. One of the best-selling air rifles, ideal for long shots with plenty of energy to spare. Its camouflage-style synthetic stock and the IGT Mach 1 system make this rifle stand out in precision, durability, and performance. The three most recognized Spanish high-power air rifles and the good Spanish air rifles, the ones we categorize as good:
Field Test of High-Power Air Rifles
We took all the high-power air rifles in 4.5 mm (.177 cal) to our shooting range and conducted our comparison.
Test Conditions:
Outdoors, target shooting at 20m, with Gamo Pro-Match pellets and JSB Exact pellets
Measurements: Power, precision, and comfort.
It must be said that regarding power, we are only going to highlight perception, as we did not take the Chrony to the field on this occasion, but we already know from other tests that the differences are about two Joules maximum from one to another, which would represent a 9% difference. It might be important for longer distances and adverse conditions, but we have done a standard test with a distance of 20m that allows shooting with open sights and will not show much difference.
In the first photo, you can get a quite accurate idea of the length of all the air rifles.
We are going to leave it in a comparative table in which we will also include the sale price so that if the reading is with the intention of buying a high-power air rifle, it will be easier for you to make the decision.

| Whisper X Vampir | Medium | Medium - Good, without scope | Very High | 240 |

We repeat that these are 20m tests and that they are brand new air rifles; the evolution of the rifles may be different after some initial shots. Some improve, others remain stable, and others deteriorate faster than others; each air rifle evolves differently.
Our field photos and videos:
Gamo Whisper X Vampir Air Rifle positioned without scope
The combo that Gamo devised for this Whisper X rifle with the 3-9*40 Vampir scope, flashlight, and laser will be hard to dethrone from the No. 1 spot.
The stock was incredibly well designed; it adapts great to most people, its center of gravity is so well achieved that its handling and posture or shouldering for the shot is formidable. Good length and a more than respectable scope make a very well-balanced set. The result in the field: on target. We also love it because it is aging super well for a model with quite a few years already; it looks truly current.
Gamo Replay X Maxxim Air Rifle
The Replay X Maxxim was a big hit for Gamo. Gamo had already had rifles with magazines, but not like these; you can have as many spare magazines prepared as you want to load and enjoy as long as you wish... It was the first multi-shot model, and later they introduced the Roadster and its variants in IGT. This first one must always be shot with a scope; it does not have open sights (rear sight and front sight), but it is comfortable and quite precise. A correct set with a correct price and guaranteed fun.
Gamo Whisper Maxxim Air Rifle
This air rifle has placed itself in the third spot; there is also the IGT version. Have you seen its price? It is a great bet by Gamo because with a ridiculously low price, they have achieved as a brand what they intended. For those of us who enjoy it, super comfortable, correct power and precision; it carries the same stock as the Vampir and the Whisper barrel. It is incredible, rank 3.
Hatsan Airtac Air Rifle
Hatsan Airtac Air Rifle and Hatsan Airtac ED Air Rifle. These rifles, for us, are a great design from Hatsan. Good rifles because they are precise, light, and manageable, along with a truly laughable price, an option that will continue to rise. The rather peculiar design is comfortable; it is not what Hatsan used to manufacture, thicker and heavier; here they have changed the concept.
Hatsan Striker 1000 S Air Rifle
The Hatsan Striker 1000 S and its variants in both wood and Vortex have been with us for a while. The reasons are clear: powerful and quite precise with good behavior over time and a price that in its day represented a very strong entry into the European market. The Airtac is giving it a hard time, but this rifle is still here.
Good Spanish Air Rifles
And now we start with "another world," not very different, but another. You already know this from other presentations we have made of high-power rifles and our favorite rifles, but they are our favorite rifles and we are very proud they are of Spanish manufacture. You know that among our portfolio of brands there are many from other places and factories, and we assure you that these are the Top on their own merits.
All three have wooden stocks; aesthetically they are beautiful, but we all know that shooting with wood is "something else." A kind material that absorbs the shock of compression and gives a presence to the shot that is unmatched by synthetic materials.
The body of the Gamo Hunter 440 is the narrowest of the three, but even so, after so much time, it remains a great product from Gamo.
We have spoken many times about the Storm: powerful, long, precise and poised.
Regarding the Fenix 400, here we have uploaded the Compact version; you know this model is manufactured in Walnut stock, harder than Beech, it is a little gem. These barrels are true works of craftsmanship, verified one by one with the borescope, they are exquisite.
All three evolve luxuriously over time, their shot. They are jewel rifles; they age becoming more beautiful; when you master them, they are irreplaceable.
If you can do it, buy one of these jewel rifles; time will pass and you will remember these words...
