Gamo has recently incorporated the new CAT (Custom Action Trigger) into its carbines, which allows you to adjust the travel and pressure of the two trigger strokes independently.
Gamo Triggers
To date there are two types of trigger with different characteristics at GAMO, the SAT trigger (Smooth Action Trigger) and the CAT trigger (Custom Action Trigger) with customisable action.
The CAT trigger is the new trigger that allows the shooter to adjust the trigger on both the first and second pull independently, modifying the travel and sensitivity of the trigger.
It is important to make sure that the carbine is not cocked or loaded before adjusting the trigger; as well as not forgetting that this trigger can be adjusted below 1.35 kg of weight, in principle Gamo advises that the trigger should not be modified below this weight, as the carbine could fire accidentally in the event of a fall.
Main differences between the SAT and CAT triggers.
Gamo SAT trigger (Smooth Action Trigger). The total trigger travel will always be the same, what you will be able to modify is the travel required to operate the two phases of the trigger, trigger preparation and trigger action. Screwing or unscrewing the screw will move the trigger forwards or backwards causing it to:
- Longer first time / Shorter second time
- Longer first time / Shorter second time
Gamo CAT Trigger (Custom Action Trigger): The travel can be varied and the pressure required to move the trigger through the two stages can be adjusted. By using two screws, the travel of both the first and second stages can be modified independently.
- To reduce the travel: turn the screw clockwise.
- To increase the travel: turn the screw counterclockwise.
There is a second screw that will allow you to adjust the resistance that the trigger supports before moving on to the moment of firing. Gamo recommends not to modify this screw without prior knowledge, to avoid possible consequences due to carelessness, since if the pressure is too light, a blow or fall could cause the cocked weapon to be triggered.
The Gamo Coyote PCP carbine is one of the most recent to have the CAT trigger.
