Let's summarise what to consider when choosing the ideal mount for a particular rifle scope. The first thing to think about is the type of carbine or rifle on which the scope is to be mounted. If your rifle has power and recoil is important, the ideal is to look for a one-piece mount, integral mount.
Many of the scopes on the market come with built-in rings, but this does not mean that it is the perfect mounting element for the carbine or rifle to which it is to be attached, so please take into account the indications we give you.
You can take a look at the different mounts that you can find in carbines and pistols, don't forget that through the navigation filters on the left side, you can narrow down the search for the mount you are looking for.
Features to take into account when choosing your frame
Rail Width
Most air rifles and rimfire rifles have a 9.5-11.5mm rail width. Other rifles have a Picatinny or Weaver rail, this is wider and angled differently to most.
Scope tube diameter
The most common tube diameter size is 1 inch, which corresponds to 25.4mm. It should also be noted that 30mm diameter versions are becoming more and more common. Therefore, before choosing the mount, the diameter of the tube and the diameter of the scope hood must be taken into account.
Mounting height
- The mounting height will depend on the diameter of the scope hood, this being the objective lens:
1″ Low: For 9.5-11.5mm and up to 32mm viewfinders (referred to as "Low").
1″ Medium: For 9.5-11.5mm and up to scopes up to 45mm bell (Designated as "Medium").
1″ High: For 9.5-11.5mm and up to scopes up to 56mm bell (Designated as "High").
- In case the diameter of the scope is 30mm:
30mm Medium: For 9.5-11.5mm and up to 44mm bore (referred to as "medium").
30mm High: For 9.5-11.5mm and up to 56mm bell diameter scopes (referred to as "High").
30mm High: For 9.5-11.5mm and up to 56mm bell diameter scopes (referred to as "High").
- Finally for Weaver or Picatinny rail width:
Weaver/Picatinny 1″
1″ tube diameter and medium lens: Suitable for Weaver/Picatinny rails and scopes up to 50mm bore.
1″ tube diameter and large objective: Suitable for Weaver/Picatinny rails and scopes up to 56mm bell.
Weaver/Picatinny 30″
30mm tube and medium lens: Suitable for Weaver/Picatinny rails and scopes up to 50mm bell.
