What types of pellets exist and what are their applications?

Undercalibrated and Supercalibrated: Undercalibrated pellets have a slightly smaller diameter than the nominal one, such as 4.49 mm, and are usually used to increase velocity and decrease friction in the barrel. The supercalibrated ones, on the other hand, have a slightly larger diameter, such as 4.52 mm, offering a better seal and greater energy on impact.
Lead Qualities and Alternative Materials: Pellets can be made of pure lead or alloys of lead with antimony for greater hardness. There are also combination pellets with a steel or plastic tip for different effects on the target, such as greater penetration or expansion.
Pesos:
Light (below 7 grains): Ideal for high speed and short distance shooting.
Standard (7-9 grains): The most versatile, suitable for most applications.
Heavy (more than 9 grains): They offer greater stability and energy at longer distances, ideal for hunting and pest control.
Shapes of Pellets and Their Uses:
Flat Head (Wadcutter): Ideal for target shooting and competition, as they create well-defined holes in the target.
Round Head (Domed): They offer better aerodynamics and stability at long distances, suitable for hunting and precision shooting.
Pointed Head: They combine characteristics of flat and round pellets, offering a good balance between precision and penetration.
Hollow Point: Designed for expansion on impact, ideal for small game hunting and pest control.
Metal or Steel Tip: They offer high penetration, suitable for harder targets.
Shotgun Pellets (BBs): Made of steel and generally used in BB guns and rifles for recreational shooting and plinking.

The first online purchase I made at this gun shop is worthy of framing with an unbeatable impression. I ordered several models of pellets… and the truth is that they arrived like a bullet. They didn't even take 18 hours! I received the order in perfect packaging, which made it easier to preserve during transport. A single box of pellets arrived with them quite dirty, as if there was little turnover of that item, but nothing out of the ordinary and that can't be solved by cleaning them before firing them. In short, excellent service and good product. They have gained a repeat customer.

4.5 pellets and their difference with other calibers

As we have already mentioned, 4.5 pellets are ideal for sports shooting and competitions. Its lightness allows for a flatter trajectory and greater speed than with larger calibers such as 5.5 or 6.35. But... in what? Are they exactly different?

4.5 pellets vs 5.5 pellets

If you are hesitating between selecting 4.5 pellets or 5.5 pellets, the first thing you should take into account is the use you are going to give them. Thus, if your goal is power and effectiveness on small game, opt for the 5.5 pellets. If, on the other hand, what you need is economical ammunition, that is not heavy, with more muzzle velocity, then you should select 4.5 pellets.

4.5 pellets vs 6.35 pellets

If your doubts are between the 4.5 mm and the 6.35 mm pellets, keep in mind that the 6.35 mm pellets are larger and heavier, ideal for prey larger and smaller game, due to its greater impact and penetration energy. On the other hand, 4.5 mm pellets are lighter and faster, offering greater precision and a flatter trajectory, perfect for sports shooting and frequent practices.
