• Multiple formats: compact pistols, full-size 1911 replicas and revolvers with different barrel lengths.

Compare the main Colt CO₂ families

Colt Defender CO₂: a compact recreational pistol

The Colt Defender CO₂ pistol combines compact dimensions with styling derived from the 1911 family. Its manageable format makes it an appealing option for informal target shooting and short-range plinking.

Before buying, check the exact ammunition, calibre, magazine arrangement, materials and accessory interface specified for the available version.

Colt 1911 CO₂ pistols

The Colt 1911 CO2 pistol is one of the most recognisable replicas in the Colt airgun range. Different versions reproduce the platform through classic, compact or more contemporary configurations.

Colt Government 1911 A1

The Colt Government 1911 A1 CO₂ retains the traditional proportions and distinctive controls associated with the historic pistol. It is particularly relevant to shooters interested in a classic 1911 replica for target shooting or collecting.

Its ammunition and operating system must be checked on the product page because not every Colt 1911 CO₂ version uses the same type of projectile or magazine.

Colt 1911 Classic CO₂

The Colt 1911 Classic CO₂ focuses on the traditional visual identity of the 1911 platform. Depending on the specific version, its finish, ammunition and slide operation may differ.

Colt M45 A1 CQBP

The Colt M45 A1 CQBP CO₂ offers a more modern interpretation of the 1911. It retains the familiar platform while adopting a more contemporary external design.

This makes it suitable for shooters who appreciate the 1911 layout but prefer the appearance of a modern service-style replica.

Colt Peacemaker CO₂ revolvers

The Colt Peacemaker CO2 revolver recreates the appearance and handling of the famous Single Action Army design. Its rotating cylinder, manual hammer operation and imitation cartridges provide a very different experience from a semi-automatic-style CO₂ pistol.

Depending on availability, the range may include Antique, Nickel and other finishes. The external finish does not determine the ammunition, so always check whether the selected revolver is designed for steel BBs or Diabolo pellets.

Colt Python 357 CO₂ revolvers

The Colt Python CO2 revolver is aimed at shooters who prefer a more modern revolver design. The range may include different barrel lengths, with compact versions and models inspired by the classic long-barrel Python.

Colt Python 357 2.5-inch

The shorter configuration prioritises compact dimensions and easy handling. It is a practical choice for users looking for a smaller recreational CO₂ revolver.

Colt Python 357 6-inch

The longer configuration provides an extended sight radius and a different balance. Actual accuracy and performance still depend on the particular model, ammunition and shooting conditions.

Blowback or fixed-slide Colt CO₂ pistol?

On a Blowback Colt CO₂ pistol, part of the gas is used to cycle the slide after each shot. This creates more movement and a more dynamic shooting experience, but it also uses part of the available CO₂.

Frequently asked questions about Colt CO₂ guns

Which Colt CO₂ pistol should I choose?

The Defender is suited to users looking for a compact recreational pistol. The Colt 1911 family offers classic and modern semi-automatic styling, while the Peacemaker and Python are intended for shooters who prefer revolver operation.

Do all Colt CO₂ pistols fire steel BBs?

No. Some Colt CO₂ guns use steel BBs, while others are designed for Diabolo pellets. Always check the individual product specification before choosing ammunition.

What is the difference between a Peacemaker BB and Pellet model?

The main difference is the projectile and the compatible loading components. BB models use spherical steel BBs, while Pellet versions are designed for Diabolo pellets.

Is a Blowback Colt pistol more accurate?

Not necessarily. Blowback primarily adds slide movement and more dynamic operation. Accuracy also depends on the barrel, sights, ammunition, shooting conditions and the shooter’s technique.

Should I choose a 2.5-inch or 6-inch Colt Python?

A shorter model prioritises compactness, while a longer version provides an extended sight radius and different balance. Compare the weight and specifications of the exact models available.

Can I leave a CO₂ capsule installed?

Long-term storage with a pierced capsule under pressure is generally not advisable. Follow the procedure in the manufacturer’s manual when removing the capsule.
