Bushnell Engage DX Binoculars

The new Engage DX available in the versatile 10X42 configuration and the powerful 12X50 configuration, is a perfect combination of performance, capacity and affordability with a lifetime warranty. They have an all-metal chassis, fully multi-faceted optics, and have Bushnell's exclusive EXO Barrier treatment. Water is no problem as they are IPX7 waterproof rated to ensure they never get fogged up. Its perfect textured rubber armor ensures that you will always have a firm grip.

Its prisms have the new dielectric (DX) coating for high-resolution viewing. It guarantees a reproduction of vivid colors and allows a light transmission of 92%.

Introduced in 2017, the Bushnell ENGAGE binoculars are one of the best value ranges of binoculars on the market. Bushnell offers a versatile and affordable option for hunters, bird watchers, and amateur astronomers. They are a true all-terrain option due to their robustness, which is equally useful for carrying them as basic equipment in a backpack, for weekend outings to the countryside or on a hunting day.

Construction and chassis

The frame of these binoculars is strong and resistant but not excessively heavy. In fact, they have a very good balance, making them heavy enough to be easy to stabilize, but not so heavy that they tire you out with continuous use. On the other hand, they are not excessively bulky either, which helps their bearing in multiple ways, since being articulated they can fold on themselves. This last characteristic, together with the diameter of the lenses, determines the width of the tubes, which cannot be excessively bulky.

They have a very high resistance to the harshest treatment, something essential in equipment intended for outdoor activities. It is really difficult for them to suffer any damage, due to a fortuitous fall or due to humidity problems.

Their studied ergonomics make them feel very pleasant when they are picked up, this is helped by their rubber coating, with some strategic rough areas to guarantee their grip with wet hands. A cover that also has protective functions and attenuates possible fluctuations on clothing, thanks to the brake that the rubber rubs against it. In addition, noise is avoided as a result of knocking with other metal parts of the equipment.

All ENGAGE models have a standard tripod adapter.

Glasses

In this aspect, the protection technology for the lenses, called “EXO Barrier”, stands out. It's a coating developed by Bushnell, which molecularly adheres to the lens and fills the microscopic pores in the glass. The result is an ultra-slippery coating that repels water, oil, mist, dust, and other particles. Nor will rain, snow, fingerprints and dirt stick to it. Logically, this treatment also helps to keep the binoculars clean and therefore will allow you to maintain a clear vision even with intense use.

Another of its most notable aspects are the dielectric coated (DX) lenses for the prisms. The light transmission of the BaK-4 type prism is improved by using this type of coating, instead of a metallic mirror. This makes the surfaces of it act like a dielectric mirror. Dielectric prisms produce high reflectivity, great color, amazing resolution, and fantastic detail, even at twilight hours. Likewise, they allow a light transmission of 92% generating brilliant images.

Also the depth of field in these binoculars is exceptional. Being able to keep an eye on what's happening outside of your main focus, which is a really rare feature. Finally, note that the lenses of the ENGAGE binoculars are made with ecological glass, lead-free and are totally waterproof, they meet the IPX7 military certification.

Accessories

Bushnell has increased the number of accessories included with the binoculars. Packaging has been greatly improved and an outer sanity carry bag has been included, a smaller protective bag, which also doubles as a lens cleaning cloth. Along with the protective bags, Bushnell provides rubber lens covers for both the front and rear lenses. Both are easy to put on and take off. To keep the binoculars within easy reach, a durable and comfortable padded strap is also included, imprinted with the brand's name.
