MOA stands for Minute of Angle.
It is an angular unit of measurement. When we describe a red dot as 2 MOA, 4 MOA or 6 MOA, we are not simply describing the physical size of the LED. We are describing the apparent angular diameter of the dot over the target.

This reveals one of the key principles when choosing a red dot sight: the larger the MOA value, the more of the target the dot visually covers.

Does increasing brightness make the red dot larger?
It does not change the nominal angular size of the dot.
A nominal 2 MOA dot remains a 2 MOA dot regardless of the brightness setting.
However, there is a difference between the true angular size and the apparent size perceived by the eye.
If brightness is set too high for the ambient conditions, the dot may appear to bloom or develop a halo around it. This can make it look larger or less sharply defined.
Reducing brightness can make the point appear smaller and cleaner.
For this reason, it is usually best to use enough brightness to see the point clearly without unnecessarily over-illuminating it.
Is a 1 MOA or 2 MOA dot always more accurate?
Not necessarily.
