Norica spring-piston air rifles

Norica spring-piston air rifles use the traditional break-barrel layout. Breaking the barrel compresses the coiled mainspring; when the trigger is released, the spring drives the piston forward and compresses the air behind the pellet. The system needs no bottle, pump or compressor. The piston’s movement does, however, create a characteristic firing cycle with forces in more than one direction, which should be considered when selecting a hold, rest and scope.

Norica GRS: the brand’s gas-ram system

GRS stands for Gas Ram System. In these rifles, a pneumatic gas ram replaces the conventional coiled mainspring, while the rifle is still cocked by breaking the barrel. A GRS model is therefore not a PCP: it is mechanically cocked before every shot and has no reservoir that must be filled from an external high-pressure source.

The family includes Spider GRS, Phantom GRS and selected Storm configurations. Stock, calibre, weight and muzzle energy can vary between versions. Norica Omnia ZRS: a different break-barrel platform

The Norica Omnia ZRS uses Norica’s Zero Recoil System. During the shot, the action can move in relation to the stock to isolate part of the movement generated by the mechanism. This does not turn the Omnia into a PCP, nor does it mean that every vibration disappears under all conditions. It remains a break-barrel air rifle that requires an appropriate hold and carefully matched scope mounting.

Norica PCP air rifles

Norica PCP air rifles store high-pressure air in a reservoir. Depending on the model, they may include a regulator, multi-shot magazine, pressure gauge, bolt or sidelever and different adjustment options. The NTX 35 belongs to the manufacturer’s newer PCP generation. Norica air rifles in 4.5, 5.5 and 6.35 mm

Calibre availability depends on the model and market version. 4.5 mm is commonly paired with lighter pellets and a relatively flat trajectory. 5.5 mm uses projectiles with a larger diameter and usually greater mass.
