Spyderco Endura 4 FRN Zome Green Pocket Knife The Endura 4 FRN Zome Green  pocket knife combines all the features of the Endura 4, one of the best selling models with a knife with a multi-colored "Zome" handle. The nomenclature "Zome" (pronounced "zoh-may") is a kind of Japanese handicraft that focuses on dyeing textiles. This ancient art form includes many different methods for creating entertaining patterns using dyes derived from plants, flowers, fruits and other natural sources, and is closely related to many aspects of Japanese history and culture.   How do they create the "Zome" tint? Inspired by this rich artistic heritage, Spyderco's Zome knives are unique variations of Lightweight models, which feature fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) injection molded handles. The handle are molded in a light base color and then hand dyed individually by expert Japanese craftsmen. Using a technique reminiscent of traditional hiki-zome (dyed with a brush), various dye colors are brushed by hand on the handle to create distinctive patterns, one of a kind. Like the traditional methods of dyeing in Japan, the special dyes used completely impregnate the FRN for permanent coloring. The Spyderco Endura 4 Lightweight has all the defining features of this model, it includes a completely flat VG-10 stainless steel blade, a Back Lock locking mechanism and a 4-position fixing clip.       I had the pleasure of purchasing the 150th Anniversary Edition Cometa 400 Fenix ​​​​at the lowest price I could find online from these kind people. I also indicated that I am passionate about wood and that it would be great if they could send me a nicely figured example. These come with Spanish Walnut stocks. I'm not sure what was done in the background, but I can certainly say my hopes were met on this point!!
