Gamo spring-piston, IGT or PCP air rifles

Gamo spring-piston

The Gamo Standard air rifles use the traditional spring-and-piston mechanism. They're usually cocked via the break-barrel action and don't need an external bottle to work. Gamo IGT with gas-ram

IGT stands for Inert Gas Technology. On Gamo IGT air rifles, a sealed pneumatic unit replaces the coil spring. This changes how the firing cycle develops, but it doesn't automatically make every IGT rifle more accurate, more powerful or easier to cock: the result depends on the overall design, calibre, stated energy and how the shooter sets it up.

Gamo PCP air rifles

The Gamo PCP air rifles store pressurised air in a cylinder, rather than compressing the system before each shot via a break-barrel action. They offer a different shooting experience, though they require monitoring the pressure and having a compatible pump, bottle or compressor for filling.

Break-barrel and fixed-barrel rifles

The 10X name identifies magazine systems Gamo has developed for certain models. Their main purpose is to avoid having to manually load a pellet into the breech after each shot. On a break-barrel rifle, the mechanism still has to be cocked between shots; so multi-shot doesn't mean semi-automatic.
